    4. Boosterthon Update:  Good work PES!!! As a result of the Boosterthon fundraiser we earned over $18,000 for our school.   This is a tremendous achievement and will prove to be invaluable as we are now  able to purchase and provide for much needed technology enhancements in our classrooms. .  Today we purchased 8 ELMO Document Camera ($4,488.00)  which will be deployed into classrooms this year.  To learn more about the ELMO click here ELMO TT-12.  This purchase of is only the beginning!  This summer MCPS will be installing Promethean Boards, video projectors and wireless networking in each classroom.  Once installed we will research options for purchasing classroom technology that will be most beneficial for our students.

    5. A HUGE THANK YOU to Dan Savino and PHS:  At the March PTA meeting we discussed that we would like to provide Elmo's into some of the classrooms this school year.   The Elmo requires a video projector so that any image it captures can then be "thrown" and magnified onto a screen or wall.  The county will be installing new video projectors for each classroom this summer, so we did not want to purchase video projectors that were only going to be used for a few months.  Dan Savino (PES Parent and top rated teacher at PHS) was aware that the high school had several video projectors (8 to be exact) sitting in storage.  Dan acted quickly and was able to secure the 8 video projectors so we could use for the rest of the school until we get our new ones.  Thanks to Dan the PTA was able to purchase 8 Elmos that can be put to use immediately.

    6. Community Service Project:  Ross and Elizabeth Ohmen have been doing a wonderful job getting support for the upcoming community service project.  They are holding planning meetings every Wednesday at 6:30 PM in room 18. To find out more please go to…. www.pespta.com/communityservice
